Walmart Management

Walmart Marketplace is smaller than Amazon and considerably less crowded. For sellers with the right catalogue that is the whole argument: the same products, less competition, and buyers who are not comparing eleven identical offers.

It is also stricter about who gets on. We handle approval, item setup and ongoing management for sellers entering the US Walmart marketplace.

Getting approved

Walmart vets sellers before allowing them on, and applications are declined regularly. They want to see a registered US business, a tax ID, a track record on another marketplace, and a catalogue that fits their assortment.

The application is where most of the friction is. Businesses selling well on Amazon are usually accepted; new sellers with no history usually are not, and we will tell you which you are before taking on the work.

What is different from Amazon

Listing Quality Score

Walmart scores every item on content, images, ratings, offer competitiveness and post-purchase performance, and shows you the score. It is unusually transparent — you can see exactly what is holding a listing back.

Score improvements translate fairly directly into search visibility.

Price competitiveness

Walmart actively compares your price to other retailers, including outside Walmart. Items priced above what is available elsewhere can be suppressed from search and lose the Buy Box.

Repricing strategy here has to account for your own pricing on Amazon and your own website.

What we manage

  • Seller application and account setup
  • Item setup and catalogue upload
  • Listing Quality Score improvement
  • Walmart Sponsored Products campaigns
  • Repricing and Buy Box strategy
  • Walmart Fulfilment Services onboarding
  • Order and returns management
  • Seller performance and Pro Seller standards
  • Review and rating management
  • Integration with your existing listing feed

Walmart Fulfilment Services works much like FBA and carries similar advantages in search placement and delivery promise. It is not right for every catalogue — seller-fulfilled with a two-day promise can outperform it on some lines — and it is worth modelling rather than assuming.

How we start

1

Assess the fit

Not every Amazon catalogue works on Walmart. We check category demand, competition and price position, and tell you which lines are worth listing before doing any setup work.

What this produces: a decision to proceed or not, made before you have spent much.

2

Application and setup

Seller application, account configuration, shipping templates and returns settings. Getting shipping templates right at the start prevents a long tail of late-delivery defects.

What determines the speed: Walmart's approval queue and your business documentation.

3

Item setup

Catalogue built with complete attributes, correct categorisation and content written for Walmart's own search rather than pasted from Amazon. Listing Quality Score is checked item by item.

What determines the speed: catalogue size and content readiness.

4

Grow it

Sponsored Products, repricing, review generation through Walmart's own programmes, and work towards Pro Seller badge status.

An honest view of the opportunity

Walmart will not replace Amazon revenue. For most sellers we work with it adds a meaningful percentage on top, at low incremental cost because the stock and operations already exist. It is best treated as a second channel worth doing properly, not as a growth story on its own.

Common questions

Do I need a US business to sell on Walmart?

Walmart has opened to international sellers in several markets, but a US business entity and tax ID remains the smoothest route, and for most applicants it is what gets approved. We will assess your specific position before applying.

Can I use my Amazon listings?

The product data can be reused, but the content should not be copied across unchanged. Walmart's search and Listing Quality Score reward different things, and pasted Amazon content typically scores poorly.

Is Walmart Fulfilment Services worth using?

It helps search placement and delivery promise, much like FBA. Whether it beats seller-fulfilled depends on your product's size, weight and turn rate — we model both before recommending one.

How long does approval take?

Applications are usually decided within a few weeks, and the timeline is Walmart's rather than ours. Complete documentation and a strong marketplace history are what move it along.

Do you manage Walmart advertising?

Yes. Walmart Sponsored Products is managed within this service, structured on the same principles as our Amazon PPC work.
